DCU Schools Cross Country
On Wednesday 17th January the DCU schools cross country competition returned to St Clare’s grounds after a long hiatus as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic.
First off were our First Year team led in by Jessica Ryan in 3rd place, followed by Pearl O’Brien in 4th. Saoirse Rodgers, Caroline Monks, Emma Dempsey and Maisie Kenny all finished the top 12 and helped win the team race ahead of Loreto Foxrock.
Our Intermediate team also performed very well and took their place on the podium. Goda Buivydyte (3rd place), Erin Byrne (5th), Aoibhinn Byrne (6th) and Freya O Connor were winners of their team race.
In the Senior girls race Clíodhna Ryan came in 3rd place, Lilly Farrell came 5th and Eva Corcoran finished strongly to secure our third team win of the day.
Well done to all the girls and their coach Mary McKenna. Their next outing is the North Leinster Schools Championship on 26th January in the Phoenix Park. We wish them the very best of luck and all the best with their training.
