In line with FUSE recommendations, we support the UNESCO Whole Education Approach in tackling Bullying and Online Safety in our school, which is led by our students and where their voices are valued and heard.
Together with the support of FUSE & active communication of our school Anti-Bullying Policy we are making a tangible difference in encouraging increased reporting resulting in decreased bullying.
Here are some of the key takeaways we learned on the FUSE Programme
How to spot the signs of bullying both online and offline – RECOGNISE
How to take personal responsibility safely – RESPOND
How to “break the silence” – REPORT
"Understanding Bullying" - Talk for parents and students
Psychologist Jennifer Ryan delivered a very informative presentation on bullying for our parents, which is available to view below. The talk was organised by our Parents’ Association and focused on practical strategies for supporting your children and intervening in instances of bullying.
Jennifer is an expert in anti-bullying. She founded the organisation SuperMe, which supports schools and individuals in dealing constructively with bullying. In addition to this, Jennifer works as a guidance counsellor and part-time lecturer in Psychology in Trinity College Dublin and in Child Mental Health in UCD.
Thank you to our Parents Association and teacher representatives, Ms McGarry and Ms Shanley-Blake, for organising the talk. Thank you our principal Ms Cameron and of course our speaker Ms Jennifer Ryan.
We hope that the advice contained in this video will support our school community in tackling bullying.
