Dear Parents,
The Student Council of St Dominic’s College would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents and say how much we appreciate your support and efforts in this hard time. We have all had to adapt to a new lifestyle very quickly and it is not easy for anyone, but we all seem to be managing very well. It is important to check in with each other and look after yourselves too. Here are some ideas and suggestions for activities to do as a family.
Have a bake off! Appoint a family member to judge and pick a winner.
One of our students recommended a time capsule/ video blog to look back on.
Now could be a good time to think about things to do in your household which will make a difference. If you look at making small changes to the way we live, this in turn benefits the environment.
Here are some easy things you could do at home to involve all the family.
Switch to bamboo toothbrushes, metal straws, reusable lunch boxes, cups and bottles.
Cut down on red meat and dairy or even swap some for vegan products, for example oat or almond milk.
Collect rain water for plants instead of using water from the tap and encourage family members to cut down on shower times.
We hope you find some useful ideas here. Your support and care to your daughters is greatly appreciated and we are all doing a great job in tackling these difficult days. Put your safety and hygiene first and stay well!
Thank you,
Student Council
