St Dominic’s Transition Year students have worked hard all year to raise money for Respect, a charity run by the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent De Paul. In their own words:
Since 1892, The Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul have worked to provide care, education and training for people with an intellectual disability. Over this period the Daughters provided a seamless partnership of care for people from their youngest years through to old age. Their work is ultimately about people, their dignity and their quality of life.
St Dominic’s College and neighbouring St Declan’s worked together to raise money via a table quiz, a céilí and recently during a a final fundraising drive at a local shopping centre, where they raised over €500. Ms Winter and Ms Confrey helped the Transition Year students with this project.
