Recording of Choral Composing Competition winning entries

We were delighted to welcome the choir from Fortwilliam, Belfast on Thursday last. The choir, under the direction of Ms. Maebh McKeon, recorded one of the successful songs in the Choral Composing Competition in the chapel.  They sang “By My Life”, composed by Ms. Nuala Murray,  Their performance was magical and very impressive as their voices filled the chapel. They were accompanied by Ms. Sarah Jane Kelly.  As well as Ms. McKeon and Ms Kelly, the choir were also joined on their trip to Dublin by Ms. Ann Hughes and Ms. Helena Hendron.

In the afternoon, a group of both present and past pupils from St. Dominic’s recorded the second successful song, “We are Called to Praise” composed by Mr. Padraig Meredith. It was wonderful to have Padraig present throughout the recording. Many thanks to our students who worked so hard to prepare the song for the recording and of course, to our past pupils, Eileen Murray, Roseann Murray, Celina Young, Maria Lyons, Nicola McDonagh, Eimear Lacey, Taylor Maslanka and Radha Zutshi who shared their voices and talents with us so readily to make it a very enjoyable experience for us all.

The recordings will be available to listen to here after the bicentenary celebration of carols on 12th December.
