On Friday 8th November, all TY students had an action-packed day involving guided tours of both the GPO and the Dáil! We all met up outside the GPO that morning and were treated to a very informative and detailed account of Ireland’s history from the 1870s, through the events of the 1916 Rising and up to the Peace Process and the Good Friday Agreement. This period of history really came alive for us through the use of a lively and colourful short film.
The trip also included a visit to the Dáil with a fascinating guided tour of Leinster House. At the end of the tour, we had the opportunity to ask questions.
We look forward to many more interesting and educational trips like this in the future!
