Early in the morning on the 6th of May 2017 we, along with other 6th years and teachers took part in Darkness into Light. This was our third year taking part in this special event. Despite the cold and the early start, there was a smile on all 14,000 participants and especially on Dominic’s girls. At 4.15 we set off on the 5km walk together around the Phoenix Park. The never ending sea of yellow was an inspiring sight. As we approached the finish line at the Pope’s Cross, we were in awe of the power of positive mental health. The sun had risen and we were proud of ourselves and each other for taking part in this amazing event. We hope to take part in this indescribable fundraiser for many years to come and encourage everyone to take part next year!
